Recently purchased a rolltop desk… tambour has a 5×3-inch hole drilled through it near the top. (Previous owners drilled hole for power cords, didn’t realize that rolltop was UP and accidentally drilled through rolltop, too!) Any way to repair this (is it possible to patch with similar tambour?) or should I just replace the entire thing? Hubby even thought about extending the top with a wood piece, just above the tambour, to come down over the hole and hide it. Any good ideas?? Thanks!
